Store Location
The Wine Smith is conveniently located at 6800A Moffett Road (U.S. Highway 98) in Mobile, Alabama.From Interstate 65 in Mobile, take Exit 5B and proceed 6.5 miles west on Moffett Road. From west Mobile, proceed 1.5 miles east on Moffett Road from its intersection with SchillingerRoad. Look for a blue cottage located on the north side of Moffett Road.
Store Hours/Terms of Payment
The store is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We will be happy to serve our out-of-town customers at the store on Monday or Tuesday by appointment . Point of sale payment in the form of cash, personal check
(with proper I.D.) or credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover) is required. Vacation/Holiday Store Closings The Wine Smith is a family owned and operated business that closes for vacation two weeks each year and Thanksgiving weekend. The 2006 vacation closings will be the last week of April (24-30) and the last week of October (23-29)
Shipping Policy
The Wine Smith ships to customers in the lower 48 continental United States with the actual shipping charges added to the cost of your order. We generally ship orders under 5 lbs. via USPS priority mail and orders over 5 lbs. via UPS surface unless a preference is indicated. There is an additional overpacking fee of $5/carton for shipping fragile items such as glass bottles and carboys. Shipped orders must be prepaid with a credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) or a check or money order. Items in stock are generally shipped on the business day following receipt of credit card authorization or payment.
Store Stock and Special Orders
We maintain a wide variety of equipment and ingredients for home winemaking and brewing in stock and available for in-store purchase or shipment. The Wine Smith will “special order” any non-stock items offered by our suppliers on request. We reserve the right to require a deposit or pre-payment for special order items.
Merchandise Return Policy
We will issue a full store credit for equipment returned in unused, saleable condition within 30 days of purchase. The Wine Smith does not accept returns of wine and beer ingredients or chemical additives because they are subject to spoilage and/or contamination and cannot be resold. All sales of special order items are final. The Wine Smith will replace any purchased item that is defective or fails to perform as intended, normal wear and tear excepted.
